Join A Home Brew Club

There is nothing quite like getting together with people who share the same hobby or passion as you do.  Yes, home brewists can get very passionate about their hobby.

Joining a home brew club will help you no end in getting your home brewing up a few notches.  These clubs have regular meetings, usually there is a theme or a topic for each meeting.

The club organizers will most probably have a guest speaker and you will learn all sorts of neat processes, special ingredients to try, recipes and procedures to follow.

Members can, in most cases bring along a sample of their latest brew for those attending to try and give their opinion.  This is also a great way to learn and gain knowledge and experience.

The actual formal part of the meeting may not take too long, the sampling will depend on how many members have brought their home brew along for an opinion and then the really interesting part of the night happens.

This is when the real enthusiasts stay behind to swap ideas, recipes and give great hints and tips to those just starting out.  You can learn so much and come away with so many great ideas to try before the next meeting.

Most home brew clubs will have competitions, some of these are at a certain time each year and they will be in the calendar of events.  Make sure when you have a little more experience that you take the time and effort to enter.  It can be intense and very competitive but all in the spirit of brewing a really good brew, whether it be beer, wine or another brew.
